It works well for one dog and one or two people: a self-contained flat with its own entrance, a peaceful setting, and a window seat that visiting dogs seem to claim as their own within about five minutes of arrival.
The walking is the strong point. Brixham harbour, the fish quay and the town's pubs and cafes are a downhill stroll, and the South West Coast Path towards Berry Head can be picked up on foot without moving the car. Shoalstone and the breakwater are close enough for a morning circuit. Being on the upper floor does mean a flight of stairs at every trip out, which is worth a thought for an elderly dog or one that is nervous on steps.
