Aeolus House is a four-storey holiday house in the middle of Dartmouth, a couple of minutes on foot from the boat float and the town quay. The top-floor bedroom looks out over the water, the house is well decorated and consistently described as very clean, and a parking permit comes with the booking, which in a town where a space is genuinely hard to find is worth more than it sounds.
Dogs are welcome, up to two small ones. Cats are not accepted. No fee is published, so agree that with the owner when you book.

Two things are worth thinking about before booking. There is no garden, so every toilet break is a lead walk, which is fine if you are out all day and less so with a puppy or an older dog. And the house is spread over four floors with a lot of stairs between them, with guests also mentioning a missing handrail on the flight down to the kitchen. A fit dog will take that in its stride; an arthritic one will not.
Cleanliness is generally praised, but two stays on record raised pet-related problems: a lingering dog smell in one, and fleas in another that the guest put down to earlier visitors' pets. Worth a look round on arrival if your dog is prone to picking things up.
