Anglesey Hidden Getaway is a private chalet at Bally Green, on the quiet inland side of Anglesey between Bodedern and Valley, and its strongest feature for dog owners is the garden: a large, fully enclosed, private space that guests describe as secure enough to let dogs out on their own. The chalet is set up for a comfortable, low-effort stay, with comfortable beds, a conservatory that stays warm, fast WiFi and everything you need to cook. The hosts are friendly and easy to deal with, and guests travelling with both children and dogs find the layout works well, the garden doing a lot of the heavy lifting on a wet day. It is a secluded spot, and the peace and quiet is what people write about most.

The pet terms are firm and worth checking before you book. There is a £20 charge per stay for pets, up to two pets are accepted, and there is a 15 kg weight limit - which rules out most medium and large breeds, so this is a place for small dogs rather than a labrador or a collie.

Inside, the chalet is fairly open plan and there is no door onto the kitchen, so there is nowhere to shut a dog away overnight if yours is not used to sleeping loose in an unfamiliar house. A few practical gaps come up regularly too: no washing machine or freezer, no washing line or airer, and no light in the conservatory, which is worth knowing if you are drying off a wet dog after a beach walk.

Beaches, Holyhead and the coast path are all a short drive, with shops and takeaways a few minutes away. With a 4.5/5 paw rating, this suits owners of one or two small dogs who want a secure garden and a genuinely quiet corner of Anglesey.
