How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
  • Evidence: 10 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
  • Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
  • Wider context: The property has 244 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 8.9/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
  • Last refreshed: September 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
  • How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.

Pet-friendly summary

Appletree Holiday Park sits in flat Lincolnshire fen country at Hubbert's Bridge, a few miles west of Boston, and it is set up for dogs in a way that goes beyond simply tolerating them. Dogs stay in designated pet-friendly caravans and lodges, and the welcome pack waiting in the van is one of the things owners bring up most often - a treat box or gift bag for the dog, handed over alongside the usual arrival paperwork.

The charge is worth planning for. Dogs cost £45 per pet for stays of six nights or fewer and £60 per pet for seven nights or more, they have to be booked into a pet-friendly unit, and the park approves them on request rather than automatically. Up to two dogs can stay per accommodation.

Once you are there, the park is easy going. Guests with dogs describe a quiet site with plenty of room to walk, a bar and restaurant that welcome dogs, and staff who take the pet side of a booking seriously. There is a dedicated dog walk at the far end of the site, and the wider fen lanes give you flat, uncomplicated walking. The golf course, splash park, crazy golf and play areas make it a reasonable choice if you are travelling with children as well as a dog.

Two things temper the picture. Cleanliness in the pet-friendly caravans is the recurring complaint - more than one dog owner has arrived to find carpets and upholstery that needed covering up before the dog could settle, which stings at £45 a stay. Another family walking the on-site dog path found dead rats and birds along it and worried about what their dogs might pick up. There is also no outdoor bin near the vans for poo bags, so you will be carrying them back to the main block.

It earns a 4.5/5 paw rating: a genuinely dog-welcoming park with good facilities and thoughtful touches, best suited to owners who will check the state of the caravan on arrival and are happy to budget the pet supplement into the cost of the break.
