Bring your dog if
- You want a whole-property rental - no shared lobbies or corridors to navigate with your dog
- You're basing yourself in Betws-y-Coed / the Wales and want a pet-friendly anchor for day trips
Worth knowing
- Paw rating is based on 2 reviews - limited sample, treat as directional
- Pet fee and any size restrictions aren't published - confirm directly with the property before booking
How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 2 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 27 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 8.1/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: September 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
This large holiday home sits a block from the centre of Betws-y-Coed, which puts a group and their dogs within a few minutes' walk of the village shops, pubs and station, and within a few minutes more of the riverside paths that run through Eryri's most walkable corner. Groups travelling with dogs have brought two at a time here without difficulty, and the house is set up for the kind of stay where everyone piles back in after a long walk.
Space is the main draw. The open-plan living area is big enough for a large party to eat and sit together, there are enough bedrooms and bathrooms for a group in double figures, and the outdoor seating and firepit get used. There is a sauna too, which guests rate highly after a wet day on the hills. Self check-in makes late arrivals with tired dogs straightforward. The house earns a 4.3/5 paw rating from guests who brought dogs.
The setting is what people come back to. Views run across the village from the house, walks along the Conwy and the Llugwy start almost at the door, and there is a good spread of pubs and restaurants within walking distance, several of which welcome dogs.
The honest caveat is condition. The house is showing its age, and cleanliness has been inconsistent: alongside guests who found it clean and warm, others have arrived to un-hoovered sofas, debris in the carpets, marked kitchen cupboards and thin, worn towels, and some of the beds are described as past their best. None of that is pet-specific, but debris in carpets matters more when a dog is going to be lying on them, and it is worth a look round on arrival.
Best suited to a large group with dogs who want space, a village-centre base and immediate access to Eryri walking, and who will forgive a house that is comfortable rather than pristine.
