Coed y Felin is a smart modern house a two-minute walk from the centre of Conwy, and its real advantage for dog owners is not the house at all - it is where the house sits. Conwy is one of the most dog-friendly small towns in north Wales, with cafes and pubs that welcome dogs, the harbour and marine walk, the castle walls, woods and parks, and coastal paths that will take you to the next town along without ever getting in the car. Guests routinely report using the car once all week.
The house takes one well-behaved dog. It is spread over three floors and finished to a high standard - every bedroom effectively has its own bathroom, which is unusual in a holiday let - and it is kept immaculately clean, which is the point most guests make first. The garden is small but enclosed and sunny enough to eat breakfast in, and dog owners specifically note that a small dog cannot get out of it. There is off-road parking for two cars, which saves the usual Conwy parking scramble.
The owners are a large part of why guests come back. They leave a welcome basket that includes something for the dog - biscuits or treats by the door - keep in touch by message during the stay without hovering, and have been known to put up a Christmas tree and leave the heating on for a winter arrival.
