This one-bedroom cottage sits in the grounds of the Combe Lodge events venue at Blagdon, on the northern edge of the Mendips, and it has found a very specific and very useful niche: it is the place dog owners book when they are attending a wedding next door. The front door is a minute or two's walk from the venue, which means you can slip back between the ceremony and the evening do to let the dog out, something almost no wedding accommodation allows.
Beyond that, it works as a quiet countryside base. The cottage is a character building, more spacious than a one-bedroom suggests, with a well-equipped kitchen and dishwasher, separate living and dining areas and a big garden. Blagdon Lake and its walks are a few minutes away, the village is a short stroll, and Bristol is around 25 minutes by car. Parking is on site and easy.
