How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 3 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 39 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 9.4/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: September 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
Court Lane Stables is a converted stable block on a farm outside Hadlow, in the orchard country between Tonbridge and Maidstone. It is all on one level, which is a quiet advantage for older dogs and anything that struggles with stairs, and it sits in its own patch of the farm with fields on every side.
The feature dog owners keep coming back to is access to the owners' adjoining fields. Guests travelling with dogs describe walking straight out into open grass rather than driving somewhere first, which is rare for a rental of this size and does most of the work a garden would. There is no enclosed dog-proof area, though, so a dog with an unreliable recall will need to stay on a lead outside.
Inside, the recurring theme is how clean and well presented the place is, and the hot tub gets mentioned almost as often as the fields. One thing worth knowing before you arrive: the hard floors are slippery, and larger dogs have had real trouble getting a grip on them. A couple of rugs or runners of your own would fix it and are worth the space in the car.
The owners leave a welcome note and the usual tea and coffee, and reply quickly to messages before and during a stay. Hadlow village is about an eight-minute walk for a shop, a coffee and a takeaway, so you are not marooned despite the rural setting, and Tonbridge and the footpaths of the Kent Weald are a short drive.
It earns 4.6/5. Best suited to owners who want a level, easy-to-clean base with real walking on the doorstep, and who can live without a fenced garden. There is no dishwasher, which is worth knowing if you are cooking for a group across several nights.
