Dream Place Noah's Hope, Leysdown-on-Sea

Noah's Hope is a static caravan on a holiday park at Leysdown-on-Sea, at the eastern end of the Isle of Sheppey, and it is a good deal smarter inside than the word caravan suggests. Guests consistently describe it as modern and comfortable, with a proper shower, an air fryer and a coffee machine among the fittings, and a view worth having. For a dog it works because you have the whole unit to yourselves - no corridors, no shared entrance, and a door straight out.

The location is the other draw. Leysdown's beach is a short walk, the sea wall gives you a flat, easy walk in either direction, and there is quiet coastline and marshland to the south of the village once you want something longer. It is a straightforward place to spend a few days with a dog that likes open space and salt air.

One thing to be firm about at the booking stage. The property is run remotely, with entry by key box and instructions sent ahead, and communication from the host is the weakest part of the guest feedback: messages sent before arrival have gone unanswered, including one from a guest asking whether they could bring their dogs, who ended up paying for kennels rather than risk turning up without an answer. One booking was also cancelled at very short notice. If you are travelling with a dog, get written confirmation that dogs are accepted before you commit, and allow for a late reply on check-in details.

Beyond that, the practical notes are minor: passes for the site facilities are bought separately, the grass outside turns to mud in winter, and the barbecue has seen better days. Feedback from dog owners is limited to a single stay so far, so treat the 4.5/5 paw rating as an early reading - though that stay was an unreserved success for the dogs and their owners alike.
