How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 6 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 10 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 8.5/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: October 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.

Pet-friendly summary
Edrydd is a compact, modernised cottage in the heart of Harlech, with views across the golf course to the sea and the mountains of Snowdonia beyond. Dog owners make up much of its guest book and mostly leave happy, giving it a 4.3/5 paw rating.
Up to two dogs are accepted, and guests have found dog bowls and blankets waiting for them. Out the back is a small enclosed courtyard: enough for a couple of little dogs or a quick morning break, though there is no access to the larger shared garden. For proper walks the long sandy beach at Harlech is close by, and the town is a good base for the wider coast and hills.
Families and couples alike describe the cottage as well equipped and comfortable, with a nice kitchen and a clean bathroom, and the owners answer questions quickly. Harlech itself is quiet, with fish and chips a few doors away, a curry house and a café on the square, though some takeaways open only on certain days and there is no general store.
Parking is the recurring frustration. There is no space at the cottage, and the permit is only valid in the top car park, so unloading shopping and a dog, or getting a less mobile relative to the door, can mean several trips. Other caveats: the shower is small and low for tall guests, beds and sofas are firmer than the photos suggest, and the living-room rug has been reported to smell of previous dogs. The information folder is also out of date.
For a couple or small family with one or two small dogs who want a central Harlech base close to the beach, Edrydd works well. Larger dogs and guests who need parking at the door may find it a squeeze.
