Pet-friendly summary
Greenlawns is a large, modern holiday house in Burnham-on-Sea, built for big family gatherings, and it handles dogs as well as it handles three generations under one roof. The enormous garden is the star: dogs, children and adults all have room to run, with space for badminton, boules and croquet as well. The beach is about a five to ten minute walk away, and the house earns a 4.4/5 paw rating from guests who brought their dogs.
Dog owners praise the garden above everything else, with two-dog households giving it full marks and even an escape-artist dog staying put. A utility room with its own outside door makes muddy paws easier to deal with after the beach, and the owners are described as quick and helpful when anything needs fixing.
Inside there is a big open kitchen and dining room, several sitting rooms, four bathrooms, a separate annexe and a hot tub that is looked after during your stay. The town centre is a flat 20 minute walk, and the motorway is only a couple of miles away for days out across Somerset.
A few points to plan around. The garden is not walled at the sides of the house: the owners have added movable mesh fencing across the gaps, which works for most dogs but may not hold a large or determined one. At high tide the sea covers the beach completely, so time walks for low water. The annexe bedroom and bathroom are upstairs, and the downstairs shower room has no grab rails. A cleaning lapse on arrival has also been reported.
For a celebration or extended family holiday where the dogs come too, Greenlawns is about as good as it gets: space, security and the beach a short walk away.
