How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 3 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 32 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 9.6/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: September 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.

Pet-friendly summary
H05 Par Sands is a privately let holiday caravan on a beachside park just outside Par in south Cornwall, and its biggest draw for dog owners is simple: the sand is a few minutes' walk from the door. Dogs are welcome, and every dog owner who has reviewed the van has come away happy.
The caravan is consistently described as spotless and modern, with a fully equipped kitchen and fresh linen and towels provided. It also has a covered porch, which dogs appear to adopt as their own the moment they arrive: somewhere to park a wet, sandy dog and their towel after a beach walk rather than tracking half the beach through the living space. There is a dog wash station on the park as well, though it is chargeable rather than free.
Par Sands sits directly on the South West Coast Path, so the walking runs for miles in both directions, and the beach is a short, flat stroll rather than a drive. The park is well kept and quiet, with a swimming pool and tennis court on site, and the Eden Project and the Fowey estuary are both within easy reach. The host handles bookings directly and is repeatedly praised for quick, friendly communication.
The park rules are stricter than most, and two of them shape a trip rather than just tidying it up. Dogs must not be left alone at any point, including inside the caravan, so a full day at the Eden Project has to be a day the dog comes along. And dogs must be on a lead everywhere on the park, so an off-lead potter is not on offer here. Dogs are kept off the bedding and seating and out of the play areas, up to two can stay, and dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, the XL Bully among them, are not accepted.
Two smaller things. The vans sit fairly close together, so a dog that barks at every passer-by will be heard next door. And seasonal dog restrictions apply on many Cornish beaches through the summer, so check the rules for the beach itself before booking a July or August trip. For a beach-first Cornish break with a dog that is happy at your side all day, it earns a 4.6/5 paw rating.
