- Evidence: 3 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 24 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 8.7/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: October 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.

Pet-friendly summary
Honeysuckle Cottage sits on the green at Sutton-under-Brailes, a quiet village on the Warwickshire edge of the Cotswolds, and it makes a friendly base for a dog. A blanket, a bowl and treats are left out on arrival, which is the sort of small preparation that tells you the welcome is real rather than merely tolerated.
The village setting is the draw. The green is on the doorstep, the lanes and field paths towards Brailes Hill give walks of any length straight from the cottage, and there is enough space inside for a small group and a dog without anyone tripping over each other. The kitchen is properly fitted out, and the WiFi and television are better than a village cottage usually manages.
The outdoor layout needs thinking about. The patio doors at the back open onto a path the neighbours have the use of, a gate opposite leads through to the garden and another side gate opens onto the front of the house and the road. It works, but it is not enclosed and private, and guests with a nervous or reactive dog have found the coming and going unsettling. If your dog barks at strangers appearing, or would take its chance on an open gate, plan on leads in the garden.
Inside, the stairs are steep, which is fine for a fit dog and less so for an older one, and there is no stair gate if you would rather keep a dog downstairs. There is only one toilet for a full house, and guests have found the supplies of toilet roll and toiletries thin on arrival, so bring your own.
Best suited to a couple or small group with one steady, sociable dog who want a Cotswold-edge village and walks from the door, and who do not need a secure enclosed garden. It earns a 4.3/5 paw rating.
