Reviewers travelling with dogs picked up the cottage for the combination of practical layout and easy outside access. The pebbled back garden is small but enclosed and suits a dog stepping out without bringing mud back through the kitchen, while a porch area at the front gives an obvious place to drop boots and a wet coat. A small public park with fields and a cafe sits around the corner, useful for short toilet loops without having to walk into the busier village streets.

The cottage interior is described as spotlessly clean and well equipped in the main reviews, with dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies and useful kitchen kit already stocked. Cooking and washing facilities are set up for longer stays, which works well for a family travelling with a dog who wants to settle in rather than eat out every evening.

The caveats are external and visible from the door. Reviewers have flagged that the outside of the cottage could use some attention, including peeling paint and a broken outdoor step, and one guest arrived to find rubbish in the back garden that needed clearing before letting the dog outside.
