How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 8 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 36 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 9.4/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: October 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
This big, modern seaside house is one of the better-equipped places in Hunstanton for a family or group holiday with dogs. It is set up for them in a practical, thought-through way, and earns a 4.7/5 paw rating from guests who brought dogs along, from puppies to multi-dog parties.
The utility room is the clever part. It doubles as a dedicated dog area with a kennel-style set-up, a cool floor and space for water bowls, so wet and sandy dogs have somewhere to dry off and settle without taking over the living space. The garden is secure, there is a sun room for grey days, and off-road parking for three cars makes it easy for a multi-generation group to arrive together.
Dogs are welcome for a small extra charge, and the house rule is that they stay downstairs. Because the ground floor is open plan, there is no door or gate at the foot of the stairs, which is the single most common comment from dog owners. If your dog is likely to wander up, bring a travel gate or a folding pen; guests who did found it worked well.
The location is excellent for dog walks. The seafront gardens are about two minutes away, the town centre is a ten-minute stroll along the front, and a dog-friendly stretch of beach is around a quarter of an hour's walk in the other direction, with the famous striped cliffs close by.
One caution worth naming: a group without dogs found a strong doggy smell on entering the house, so guests sensitive to that should be aware it is a regularly dog-occupied property. A few others found the back bedrooms cool, and the kitchen is short on large pans and mugs for a full house of eight.
For a larger family or group of friends holidaying by the sea with their dogs, this Hunstanton house is a very strong choice.
