How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 2 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 95 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 8.9/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: August 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet-friendly summary
This three-bedroom bungalow sits on Rosecraddoc Lodge, a quiet holiday park a couple of miles north of Liskeard in the parish of St Cleer, on the southern approach to Bodmin Moor. It is a whole-property let on a well-kept site, and for dog owners the appeal is straightforward: space, no shared corridors, easy parking and a keysafe entry that makes a late arrival with a tired dog painless.
Dogs are welcomed here and have clearly been regular guests. Parties travelling with more than one dog report no difficulty, and the practical side of the site works in their favour, being quiet, well maintained and full of wildlife first thing in the morning. Inside, the bungalow is light with a large living and dining room, comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen, and cleanliness is rated highly by the dog owners who have stayed.
The honest caveat is the flip side of a genuinely dog-friendly let. Guests arriving without a dog have reported a strong wet-dog smell on arrival, strong enough to reach for the air freshener, and the property has also been described as damp, bedding and towels included, which they put down to its position near the river. If anyone in your party reacts to dogs, this is not the right property. If you are travelling with one, it is worth putting the heating on when you arrive even in warm weather, because the damp does not clear on its own.
The location earns its keep. Liskeard is minutes away for supplies and the mainline station, Bodmin Moor is on the doorstep for long moorland walks, and the south Cornwall coast around Looe and Polperro is a comfortable drive. Some of the decor and furnishings are showing their age, but nothing that undercuts the value.
The bungalow suits families and groups travelling with one or two dogs who want a well-priced, roomy base for east Cornwall and Bodmin Moor rather than a polished boutique stay. It earns a 4.5/5 paw rating.
