Pet-friendly summary
Little Yaffle is a cosy countryside annex where the dog is welcomed as warmly as the people. It sits in the quiet village of Martin, a short drive from Deal and Dover, and guests who brought their dogs give it a 4.8/5 paw rating.
One dog can stay. Arrivals regularly mention a homemade cake, fresh eggs from the hosts' hens, and treats, a bowl and towels left out for the dog. The hosts have dogs of their own, live next door, and use a separate entrance, so guests say they feel well looked after without being watched.
The annex has the front garden to itself, and it is secure and set back from the road, which guests with small dogs especially value. There are countryside walks from the door, a meadow a short stroll away, and The Lantern pub is a few minutes on foot. For bigger days out, St Margaret's Bay, Samphire Hoe, Walmer and Deal are all close by car.
It is properly rural, and that cuts both ways. Large farm vehicles pass on and off through the day, the lanes in and out are narrow with few passing places, and the field tracks get muddy, so pack wellies and a towel. One guest found the local walking more limited than expected and relied on the spinney and informal paths. There are no shops in the village, with larger stores about fifteen minutes away, so bring supplies. One guest also suggested a handrail at the front door.
Best for a couple or a solo traveller with one dog who wants a peaceful village base, a secure garden and hosts who go out of their way, with the Kent coast close enough for daily beach trips.
