Muncaster View, Seascale

Muncaster View is a peaceful farm cottage for a walking holiday on the quieter western side of the Lake District. It sits on a working farm near Drigg and Holmrook, a few miles from Seascale, so expect chickens, cows and a friendly goat as neighbours, and big views across the countryside. One dog is welcome per booking.

Dogs cannot be left alone at the property, and this has not always been made clear before payment, so confirm the house rules with the owners first if you are planning days out where your dog would stay behind. The stairs are bare wood, which some dogs, particularly greyhounds and other long-legged breeds, find hard to manage. Upstairs can get very warm because the windows do not open, though a fan is provided. There is no wifi and the TV is small. Reports on cleanliness are mixed: some guests found it immaculate, while a family without a dog found dog hair on the carpets and other housekeeping problems, so it may not suit anyone with a dog allergy.
