Oakdene is a self-catering house on the north shore of the Cleddau estuary at Hazelbeach, a few minutes from Neyland and looking across the water towards Milford Haven. It is the kind of place people book for a week of Pembrokeshire coast walking with a dog, and its best feature for that is simply where it stands: a circular bridleway walk starts directly opposite the front door, so the first outing of the day needs no car at all.
The house is let to one party, with a verandah looking out over the water and a garden of its own. Dog owners have found bowls waiting in the kitchen, which saves a trip back to the car when yours are the one thing you left at home, and the owners tend to leave a welcome hamper.
