The cottage has off-street parking and a corner shop within sight, both useful when you are travelling with a dog and want to keep car-shuffling to a minimum.

The garden is described as a nice enclosed sitting area at the back. One returning guest noted that a gate to fully contain a dog in the front would be a useful addition; with a settled dog it is straightforward to manage, with a more curious one a short lead in the front yard is the safer option. The cottage itself is clean and tidy in normal use, with hard-wearing finishes that suit muddy paws.

The signal here is smaller than at some of the better-known Windermere pet-friendly properties, so guests should arrive with realistic expectations and check directly with the host about anything specific to their dog. Best suited to a couple with one well-behaved dog who plans to combine short walks to the park opposite with longer days out into the wider Lake District.
