They are let separately as whole properties, and the pink one is hard to miss. For dog owners the draw is the format: a self-contained cottage with no shared corridors, parking directly outside the door, and a small enclosed garden with a gate.
Dog owners rate the practical touches highly. A dog bowl, a dog bed and treats are put out for arriving guests, which is more than most self-catering properties of this size bother with, and the cottages have suited everything from a greyhound travelling with a solo guest to a small dog with a couple. The garden is genuinely useful, but it comes with a quirk worth knowing in advance: it is not reached from inside the cottage. Getting to it means going out of the front door and crossing the car park, so anything you want out there has to be carried and you need to take your keys with you.
The village works well on foot. The centre is a short stroll, there is a shop on the way, and the cottages sit in a quiet spot with birdsong rather than traffic in the morning. The beach is the exception. It is further out than the village looks on a map, and the road down to it lacks continuous pavement in places, is narrow and can get busy, which makes walking a dog along it uncomfortable. Most guests drive and pay for the main car park instead.
The recurring complaint is cleaning. Guests have arrived to find the downstairs floor dirty, the bathroom not properly done and dog hair left behind from previous pets, and that last one is a fair criticism to level at a property that markets itself as dog friendly. The layout is worth checking too if stairs are a problem, since the kitchen and dining area are downstairs and the lounge is above them up a steep flight.
