The walking is the reason to come. Land's End is around 20 minutes on foot and Sennen Cove about 30, both along genuinely beautiful stretches of coast, and the park is quiet and very dark at night, which suits a dog that settles better away from traffic and streetlights. The on-site cafe and restaurant draws warm praise for its food and its welcome, and it has a resident dog who greets customers, with seating away from her for anyone who would rather keep a distance.

Be clear-eyed about the accommodation. This is basic self-catering, simple pods and caravans rather than cottages. The most common complaint by some distance is that units are not stocked the way guests expect: bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery are not always provided, and arrivals have been caught out with nothing to sleep under, so confirm exactly what your unit includes before you travel. Cleaning is inconsistent too. Guests have reported units handed over with a previous occupant's dog hair still on the sofa and furniture, and the shared toilets and showers come in for repeated criticism.

Taken as what it is, a value base for walking the Penwith coast with a dog rather than a comfortable holiday home, it works, and it earns a 4.1 out of 5 paw rating. If you want a fully equipped and reliably clean base, a cottage-style stay in the area will serve you better.
