This off-grid cabin sits in its own wooded glen by the Mawddach estuary, a few minutes' drive from Barmouth, with a hot tub and a little private cove just steps away. It is a genuinely beautiful, romantic hideaway, and while dogs are welcome, it is worth going in with realistic expectations about how dog-focused it is.
Dogs are allowed, and the secluded setting has obvious appeal for a walk-and-relax break. The important thing to understand is that the site is open and not enclosed: there is no fenced garden, so dogs need to be kept on a long lead, and more than one owner would have preferred somewhere they could let a dog off safely. There is also a horse that roams the grounds, which caught out a guest walking their dog, so keep that in mind if your dog is likely to react.
The location is the star: peaceful, private and surrounded by trees, with estuary views, a small beach a few metres away and a hot tub to soak in after a walk. Barmouth and its long beach are a short drive for bigger days out.
