Everyone who has brought a dog says the same two things: the property is very clean, and the garden is excellent. That garden is large and has mature trees for shade, and it is the feature dog owners name first, which for a whole-house let is usually the whole game.
The house sleeps four comfortably, with two bathrooms, one of them en suite off a bedroom, which is a genuine convenience when a party is sharing. Guests describe it consistently as spacious and quiet, and the owner comes across as helpful and easy to deal with. Brampton itself is a couple of minutes away for provisions, and the railway station is close enough to be useful if anyone in the party is arriving without a car.
The location is Hadrian's Wall country rather than the central Lakes. Birdoswald and the Wall path are close, Talkin Tarn is a short drive, and Carlisle and the northern fells are both within easy reach. It is walking country in the proper sense, and a dog that wants a full day out will get one.
The gripes are small and domestic. Guests have found no welcome pack and no information folder, so there were no instructions for the electric heating and no milk or teabags to start with, and it is worth bringing your own. The bedroom curtains are light voile and let the early sun in, a bulb needed replacing, and the outdoor tiles could do with resetting. None of it touches the dog side of the stay.
