How this review was built Evidence, sources, refresh cadence
- Evidence: 5 pet-mention guest reviews sourced from major booking platforms - guests who explicitly mentioned travelling with a dog. Each review is screened for pet-relevance, then judged for sentiment to compute the paw rating.
- Not a personal visit. We don't stay at every hotel we cover - we summarise patterns from real guest reviews, paraphrased and never quoted verbatim. Full standard on our editorial policy page.
- Wider context: The property has 2 guest reviews overall across booking platforms, averaging 9.0/10 - the paw rating reflects only the pet-mentioning subset.
- Last refreshed: October 2026. Policies and pricing drift; we re-check on a rolling basis. Confirm specifics with the property at the moment you book.
- How the paw rating works: Full detail on the methodology page, including the three verification gates and known limitations.
Pet policy at a glance
- Pet fee: £20 (check with the property whether this is per stay or per night)

Pet-friendly summary
Tan Bryn 1 is a comfortable little base for a seaside break with a dog, right in the middle of Aberdaron. Guests with dogs keep coming back to the same point: the beach is just around the corner, the coastal path starts more or less on the doorstep, and daily hour-long walks on the sand are easy to fit in whatever the weather.
One dog can stay, and there is a £20 pet fee. Inside, the first-floor flat is warm, clean and roomier than the photos suggest, with a well-equipped open-plan kitchen and lounge that has coped with everything up to a Christmas dinner.
Outside there is a sunny enclosed seating area that owners with puppies found useful. It is shared with Tan Bryn 2 next door, though, and there is no gate between the two, so if both flats have dogs they will meet. That has gone fine so far, but it is worth knowing if your dog is reactive with other dogs.
The village itself is a big part of the appeal. The bakery, the shop, the chip shop and the pubs are all a few minutes' walk away, and guests describe the locals as friendly and the village as very easy-going about dogs.
A few practical notes: the flat is up a flight of stairs, the owners give clear parking directions rather than a dedicated space, and some guests found basics like hand soap and dishwasher tablets weren't supplied, so pack a few. For a beach-and-coast-path break with one dog, it earns a 4.7/5 paw rating.
