Pet-friendly summary
The Cottage is a big, recently renovated holiday house near Tudweiliog on the north coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, and it suits groups who want to bring their dogs along on a family break. Guests regularly arrive with two dogs alongside several generations of family, and the house has the space for it: a large open living area, a separate snug, a sun room with bifold doors, a hot tub and plenty of parking.
Dogs clearly enjoy the setting. The countryside around the house is quiet, there is a footpath walk starting right beside the property, and the beaches of the Llŷn are within easy reach by car, with Anglesey and Snowdonia a longer drive away. Guests with dogs describe it as a relaxed, welcoming place, and the owners keep it to a high standard overall.
The one point that comes up again and again is the garden. It is not fully enclosed: the front wall is low, there are gaps in the hedge and no fence between the garden and the road or the neighbouring sheep field. Owners of dogs who stay close found this no problem, but many kept their dogs on long lines or under constant watch, and an escape-prone or athletic dog will need supervising every time it goes outside.
Cleanliness is worth knowing about too. Most guests found the house spotless, but there have been complaints of dog hair and a doggy smell on the sofas and floors left from earlier visitors, so report anything amiss on arrival. Guests have also suggested an outdoor dog wash and a tumble dryer, as there is nowhere obvious to dry wet dogs or kit after a beach day.
For a large group with a sociable dog or two who can be trusted in an open garden, The Cottage is a comfortable base for a Llŷn holiday, and it earns a 4.4/5 paw rating.
