Pet-friendly summary
The Farmhouse is a large, comfortable holiday house on a smallholding just outside Brynsiencyn on Anglesey, and it works especially well for families and groups travelling with more than one dog. It earns a 4.4/5 paw rating, and plenty of dog owners return year after year.
There are two enclosed gardens, a large one at the front and another at the back, and they are secure enough for even small dogs to roam while everyone sits outside. Up to three pets are accepted. Downstairs floors are hard and easy to clean, a stairgate keeps dogs on the ground floor, and throws are provided for the furniture. The owners also ask guests whose dogs sleep on the beds to bring their own bedding, which is a thoughtful, practical approach.
The hosts live next door and are described as welcoming without being intrusive, and they leave a generous welcome pack that has included eggs from their own hens. Pigs, sheep, poultry and cattle live on and around the farm, which children love, but some dogs are wary of the pigs, so well-behaved dogs who are calm around livestock settle in best.
The location is quiet, with countryside views and no traffic noise, yet Newborough beach and forest are only about ten minutes away, and most of Anglesey is within half an hour. There are good beach walks for dogs right across the island.
The caveats are few. The WiFi can struggle with streaming in the evenings, and the rural setting means driving to beaches, shops and pubs.
For a family get-together on Anglesey with several dogs in tow, The Farmhouse is a roomy, well-run choice.
