Pet-friendly summary

Russell Court sits right on the Craig-y-Don seafront at the quieter eastern end of Llandudno Bay, and it is an unusually comfortable place to bring a dog. The apartments are large and smartly furnished, dogs are straightforwardly welcome, and the promenade starts a few steps from the front door.

Guests travelling with dogs come back to the same two things. The first is the location: the prom runs for miles in both directions, so the morning walk needs no planning at all, and there is a small cafe by the paddling pool a minute or two along. The second is the bay windows. Several dog owners mention their dogs settling in front of them to watch the seafront go by, which sounds like a small thing until you are trying to keep a dog occupied indoors on a wet afternoon.

There are some practical points worth knowing before booking. The apartments are not stocked with cleaning kit, and more than one guest with a dog has wished for a hoover or a decent sweeping brush for the kitchen floor. The front gate does not always close fully, so dogs cannot simply be let out unsupervised at the front. Parking is on-street and can be genuinely difficult in season, which matters more than usual when you are ferrying bags and a dog in from the car. The property is also priced at the luxury end for Llandudno, and one or two guests felt the housekeeping did not always match that.

Best suited to families or couples who want a spacious, comfortable seafront base with the dog along, and who are happy to bring their own dog towels, bedding and a dustpan. On that basis it earns a 4.5/5 paw rating.
